Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover

Color: Royale

I'll be traveling to the east coast next month and I'm a little nervous to be getting on a plane with my DS, who will be 5 months next month. I've never nursed in public so I made the decision to buy a nursing cover while I'm away from the comfort and privacy of my home. I bought the Bebe au Lait Nursing Cover (in a pretty purple) online at The list price is $35. There is a 20% discount on Amazon but I only paid $4.37 because I had a gift certificate amount for $25.94. All thanks to taking surveys online! Gotta love the internet.

$4? Not a problem!

I'd appreciate any advice on traveling with a baby and nursing in public since it will be my first time :)

Bring Your Baby Matinees

Being a nursing mother myself, I think this is a great program! I recently found out about it and would like to share it with other moms.

Crying babies allowed :)

AMC Theater has showings exclusively for parents. You can bring your kids with you and not have to worry about what other movie-goers think because they are parents too!

These special matinees are presented by and AMC theaters and are held the first Tuesday of every month. May sure you check the website to see if it is available in select theaters in your town.

Another plus - Part of your ticket purchase will go to the Will Rogers Institute, a nonprofit that provides much-needed equipment to neonatal intensive care units and promotes research, treatment and education on cardio-pulmonary diseases.

Go ahead and check it out :

Kudos to AMC for giving parents this opportunity!

What are the Best Educational Toys for Girls?

Before we look at what are the very best educational girls’ toys, it is worth looking at the common characteristics that are shared among them.

To class something as an “educational toy,” what must it be?

· Open-ended, so greater depth can be added to the play experience over time

· Offer opportunities for self-discovery as learning through interaction with others on an equal basis

· Engaging and age appropriate so that children want to play with it time and again without becoming bored

Those three points go a long way to summing up everything that a great educational toy is and should be, and give pointers to what parents should be looking out for when they next head to the store or are looking online to buy toys for their child.

What are some of the best examples of these toys, and how do they tick the boxes of the points described above?

Even something as innocuous as the seemingly innocent doll can be an excellent educational toy. We’re not talking about Barbie or another mass-produced brand, but something more classy, that will likely help to develop your daughter in other ways away from how to dress for a nightclub or choose a sparkling bikini.

A well-chosen doll can be the ideal toddler girl toy, and remain relevant right up until they are reaching their teenage years. Dolls that are a throwback to historically significant times and offer a wide range of play opportunities will be the best for educating a little girl. Even better if there is a whole range of books and other exciting add-ons available for a truly interactive and engaging play experience.

The other great thing about a doll is that it is far more charming and traditional than a lot of other toddler girl toys you see in stores these days.

That said, the more advanced and “modern” gadgets aimed at young girls can still be great educational purchases, too.

Children’s Tablets

It had to happen. Following the success of the iPad and other successful tablet devices, it was only a matter of time before something was produced aimed primarily at children.

As a parent, the key to unlocking the potential of a tablet device aimed at children is to use it extensively yourself and work out what the child can use it for. To say children are more “tech savvy” these days, and that just using the device will be educational is one thing, however we can take the lead and ensure that these are used to engage and interact with quality content and applications as well as with games and other entertainment content.

Both tablet devices and dolls are great ideas for toddler girl toys, and offer a range of benefits in a variety of ways.

A Girl for All Time provide a number of age appropriate gifts for girls from the age of 6 upwards, including award winning dolls and keepsakes.

Mall Shopping

Today was $0.00 day at the mall! I LOVE freebies. Do you?! Yes you do. :)

My first stop was Bath & Body Works. I used a coupon card they sent in the mail for a free travel-sized item. I chose the Coconut Lime Breeze body lotion because it smells awesome. It was a quick and easy check-out.

Retail value $5.00. Better value $0.00.

For Victoria's Secret, I had a $10 coupon card that I got in the mail, valid for any purchase. I wasn't going to buy any apparel because most of it is worth way more than $10. Instead, I went with a body scrub from the Simply Breathless collection that was exactly $10.00. It smells amazing! Freesia & mandarin make a great couple. When I went "to pay", the cashier was trying to persuade me to do the "5 for $25" deal. I humored her a bit and seemed a little interested but went for the 1 for $0 deal. Can't beat that. I walked away proud, ha!

Retail value $10.00. Better value $FREE.

Next, I had a coupon I printed out from an email from Cinnabon®
"Join the Club Cinnabon® and get a taste of the sweet life with a coupon good for one FREE MINIBON® cinnamon roll at participating bakeries."

Yum! I didn't get to take a picture of it because my husband ate it. Poor Minibon  =/

Retail value about $2. Better value - free & delicious

My last item was not free but I had a $10 gift certificate for Barnes & Noble. I was rewarded this for taking a survey with DataIntelligence Online. I chose a baby sign language book that had a price tag of $15.95. It came out to $7.32 with the gift certificate.
