I have combination skin - Normal/Oily. Since starting school last month for Esthetics (I'll update you in another blog post), I've learned so much about the skin. Did you know you're born with your skin type? It's true!

The terrible truth about my skin is that it gets oily before noon. *sad face*

I'm currently using Facial Blotting Paper from Day By Day Beauty to remove excess oil and shine. It has been my go-to beauty product. I've even shared it with the girls in my class.

The blotting paper is made from natural pulp fiber and comes in packs of 100 sheets. I love that the packs are slim because they don't take up much space and can easily be stored anywhere, even your pocket.

Day By Day Beauty Facial Blotting Papers do not interfere with your makeup so you can use it anytime without having to worry. They are simple to use - just blot it on the parts of your face where you want to remove oil or shine and discard it.

What's in It?

The list of organic ingredients used include:

• Shea butter

The essential oils used to give the deodorant their fantastic scent depends on which variety you get. The one I currently use is Rose Vanilla which is made with pure vanilla bean extract and rose geranium essential oil.

The deodorant gives up to 18 hours of protection and absorbs quickly. Plus, you won't get that gunky residue that mass-made deodorants leave behind. No need to scrub your underarms off to get rid of it.

This recipe for Vanilla Body Scrub from Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, included below, is the perfect gift for friends, sisters, daughters, or anyone who deserves a bit of pampering this holiday season. Fragrant Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar gently exfoliates while olive oil moisturizes, leaving skin feeling soft, smooth and rejuvenated.

Vanilla Body Scrub

• 1 cup Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar 
• 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
• 1 or 2 drops of an essential oil (lavender, eucalyptus, ect.)
• Decorative, waterproof container

Directions:

Mix ingredients together in a bowl. Spoon into a decorative, waterproof container. Wrap in decorative paper.

Instructions for use: Apply a small amount to damp skin while in shower or bath. Gently scrub skin with a soft washcloth. Rinse thoroughly.

Making this body scrub was extremely easy and fun! I used a few drops of lavender essential oil and even added lavender buds to the mix. It smells delicious. I tested it out on my hands and they were really soft afterward. It is very exfoliating so I had to be gentle or else I would have scrubbed my skin off.
