Buttons Cloth Diapers

I cannot say enough good things about Buttons Cloth Diapers! We've been using prefolds for a while now and I've been wanting a "change of scenery".

Buttons Cloth Diaper

About Buttons Cloth Diapers

Buttons Cloth Diapers is based in Northwest Washington and run by husband and wife, Scott and Amy.

Using Buttons Cloth Diaper

It can't get any easier. With this cloth diaper, you simply snap in the insert and your little one is ready to go. It beats having to use prefolds; less time to put together!

The Buttons cloth diaper color being featured is Tangerine.

Buttons Cloth Diaper

Diaper Cover

  • The leak-proof cover has snaps which you can adjust to the size you want.
  • Made with soft, durable material.
  • The double gussets keep messes inside the diaper. (bonus!)
  • Elastic on both tummy and back to ensure a proper fit.

Inserts

Snap in and go!

Daytime Insert

Made of 4 layers of absorbent microfiber and a soft fleece on top.

Nighttime Doubler Insert

Made of 6 layers of microfiber for super absorbency.

The daytime insert snaps onto the nighttime doubler. (Note: the nighttime doubler should not be used alone because it does not have a fleece top layer.)

I really enjoyed using this cloth diaper. Most of my diaper covers are made with velcro and my son would take them off.

The Buttons Cloth Diaper snaps make it hard for my little one to remove his diaper, which is a plus.

The inserts worked perfectly. There were no leaks at all especially throughout the night. They are so absorbent! I love the snap-in feature because the inserts stay put.

I can officially say that this cloth diaper is one of my favorites!

Woolzies Dryer Balls Review

Woolzies Dryer Balls are 100% Pure New Zealand Wool that you add to the dryer to:

✓ Reduce static
✓ Reduce drying time
✓ Naturally soften clothing
✓ Help eliminate wrinkles

They help save energy by reducing the drying time by 25%! In the long run, you end up saving money by using Woolzies.

How to Use Woolzies

Just toss them into the dryer with your clothes. Simple as that! The friction caused by the tumbling softens the fibers of your clothing.

I used them to dry several cloth diaper prefolds and liked the result after they were completely dry. The prefolds were fluffier than before using Woolzies.

Woolzies Dryer Balls do not contain any chemicals so it won't destroy the quality of your clothes or reduce towel absorbency like most liquid and fabric softener sheets do. You can safely use them when drying baby clothing.

Eco Friendly

I love that Woolzies Dryer Balls are environmentally friendly. They are also:
  • 100% safe for people allergic to wool
  • All-natural
  • Made of 100% Pure Wool
  • Hypoallergenic

You can find Woolzies on Facebook and Twitter.

New to Cloth Diapers!

After a year of using disposable diapers for Z, I finally made the switch to cloth diapers. I'm so glad I did. I think using cloth diapers was all I needed to really be a crunchy mama. ;)

Cloth Diaper

A friend of mine, who is also a Navy wife, was selling some of her cloth diapers for a great deal and I couldn't pass it up. She gave me some tips on how to use and clean cloth diapers and also try not to get addicted to buying more! I can see why she warned me, I've seen so many cute designs and want to buy them all.

I have always wanted to cloth diaper since Z was an infant. It's never too late to start, right?

What really made me make the switch was a disposable diaper mishap that happened one morning. I went to change Z's diaper and found that it had "exploded", causing all of the sodium polyacrylate to spill out and make a huge mess. Let me tell you, trying to clean these little gel crystals from the bed and the carpet was not easy. They bounced all over the place!

Image via BabyGearLab

I emailed the diaper company with my concern about these crystals and even told them I was going to cloth diaper instead. They replied stating that they are not harmful and are "widely used in cosmetics and in food processing." Like that makes me feel any better. Of course, when they read that I was switching to cloth diapers, they offered a few dollar-off coupons. Thanks, but I'm sticking to cloth. :)

Do you cloth diaper? What are your favorite brands? Any advice for newbies?
I appreciate your input!
