Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA)

I'm excited to announce that I'll be a student soon! I was feeling motivated to finally start taking a program because my brain hasn't been challenged since high school. I guess I'm in the mood to do homework. When I decided to start searching for school I didn't know where to begin. I asked other military spouses for advice and was told to check out MyCAA. I didn't know much about it and was grateful to find out that I could get help through them for being a military spouse.

What is MyCAA?
A career development and employment assistance program that helps military spouses pursue their education.
MyCAA provides assistance with career exploration (if you don't know what you want to study), education and training, career readiness (help with resumes and interviews) and career connections (resources used to help get you a job).

MyCAA will provide up to $4,000 of financial assistance for military spouses who are pursuing associate degree programs, licenses or credentials leading to employment in portable career fields.

Visit MyCAA Scholarship for more information and to enroll! A real-time DEERS eligibility check is required to confirm if you meet the requirements.

Upon signing up, I was able to browse the list of approved careers and search for participating schools. That was the hardest part! I am a very indecisive person. I finally chose Medical Secretary. Once that goal is approved, I'll be able to move on to the next step. I'm eager to start learning already!

MyCAA is an excellent tool to get started in pursuing your career. I am so thankful to have this opportunity.

Military OneSource provides links to helpful articles and websites related to education.

Another website I came across was Tutor.com. They provide FREE tutoring for military families. The tutoring service is available to help you 24/7 in over 16 subjects.

If you have any suggestions for other education/tutoring websites, leave me a comment :)
