Milk Mom Baby: Preserving Breast Milk in a Keepsake Locket

Breastfeeding has been a rewarding journey for my son and I. He weaned at 17 months and I couldn't be more proud of how far we both have come!

Many of the bonding moments we shared were captured in photographs and a special piece was preserved in a keepsake locket.

The thought of preserving breast milk will probably puzzle you. But in the end, it's no different than a delicate rose saved in an album or a locket of hair from baby's first haircut.

At Milk Mom Baby, you can choose from a variety of lockets that suit your style. The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and everything you need for your keepsake locket is included in the kit!

Creating a breast milk keepsake locket using the kit provided by Milk.Mom.Baby is a simple process. It does take several days for the locket to completely dry, so patience is a virtue.

The locket pictured above is the Inverness Style which is name after the city of Inverness in Scotland. The lockets are uniquely named after personal experiences from the shop owner, Brooke. You can view the other locket styles on the Milk Mom Baby Etsy shop and read more about the story behind their name!

I loved that the kit arrived in a cute gift wrap. Brooke gift wraps every kit and can even include a handwritten note if you are sending one as a gift!

All you need is a stove, a small pot, 2 oz. of your breast milk, and a paper towel. The locket takes a little less than a week to be complete and ready to wear.

I had so much fun creating my locket. The whole process was fascinating to me. I felt crafty and couldn't wait to see how the locket turned out. I can't wait to tell my son about it when he's older. He'll probably be grossed out but I wouldn't expect any less from a boy! <3
