Giving Tuesday: Holiday Salute to Military Families

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Being a military wife, there have been many birthdays and holidays that had to be celebrated without my spouse. This is especially difficult during the holiday season when families get together to enjoy the festivities. Many active duty members have to endure being separated from their families countless times.

Last year, my husband, who is active duty Navy, was unable to come home and missed our son's first Christmas. He watched through a video call as our little one opened his presents. It was important for me to remain happy despite being apart. Seeing the smile on his face lifted my spirit and I know it meant as much to him as it did to me.

Walmart is partnering with Operation Homefront and Fisher House to bring you the Holiday Salute to Military Families which honors military services members and their families.  With a $2 million donation, their main goal is to provide meals, toys, and lodging assistance to military families in need during the holidays. The program will even help hundreds of active duty service members reunite with their families for the holidays!
