Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover

Color: Royale

I'll be traveling to the east coast next month and I'm a little nervous to be getting on a plane with my DS, who will be 5 months next month. I've never nursed in public so I made the decision to buy a nursing cover while I'm away from the comfort and privacy of my home. I bought the Bebe au Lait Nursing Cover (in a pretty purple) online at Amazon.com. The list price is $35. There is a 20% discount on Amazon but I only paid $4.37 because I had a gift certificate amount for $25.94. All thanks to taking surveys online! Gotta love the internet.

$4? Not a problem!

I'd appreciate any advice on traveling with a baby and nursing in public since it will be my first time :)

  2. Love your blog! I'm going to be traveling with my little 5 month old in late October and I also nurse. Hmm.. I'll have to keep checking back to see if anyone has any great advice! :) We have all our little babies want pretty handy though... so the nursing cover is a perfect idea.

Thanks for following my blog! :)

    1. Thank you so much! I love your blog too! I used the nursing cover at a breastfeeding tea that I go to monthly. Of course that's different because I felt comfortable around other nursing moms :)

  3. My best advice is to practice and learn how to drape it so it doesn't right on DS's face. My DD will NOT let me wear a cover anymore because she hates it hitting her face and even now that I've remedied that she refuses. I've become a lot bolder and more comfortable, but I am not as confident as some mothers!

  4. That's a good idea, you might feel a little bit too exposed without that cover! I would never be able to do it haha.

  5. Kudos to moms who still consider direct breastfeeding even when they travel. I wasn't aware of nursing covers when I was BF'ing my first daughter so I had to get somebody to make shirts for me that act like one.

    I love your blog!

  6. My daughter is three--so it has been a while since I had to deal with this program. However when I used to take her in public I would just use a blanket to cover her. I agree that practicing at home helped us both to make it work without drawing attention to ourselves.

I also found that the shirt/bra I used had more of an impact on my comfort level than anything else. I found slightly larger t-shirts worked better for me than fitted t-shirts or button up shirts.

    Good luck.
